To help track the health of their equity across all investments and at any given time, stakeholders are invited to accept their holdings once these have been issued by the investment company.
Whatever kind of security you hold, be it shares, options or convertible debt, once the company you're a stakeholder in joins Carta, you're eligible for your own Carta account. We give each stakeholder their own account because we believe in equity transparency for all. Investors, advisors, and employees are equally deserving of accurate, up-to-date information about their holdings.
The process itself is very simple. As a stakeholder, you will receive an email from Carta prompting you to log into your account. If you follow the link in the email, you will be taken straight to the task page where you will find details of the transaction and an accept button. If you need to clarify any questions before accepting, please contact the company directly. If everything is in order, just click Accept and you are finished.
If you are a corporate investor, please check our article on how to claim your company.
1. Click Sign up/View investment in the email notification received in your inbox. If you don't have an account yet, you can sign up to Capdesk before moving to step 2.
2. Click View Details on the Tasks page to review the details and accept the transaction.
3. Click Accept shares to complete the acceptance process.
4. Click Check your Dashboard to see your investments reflected.
5. If the securities are not accepted after the email notifications are received, there will be a set of reminder notification emails triggered after 24 hours, then 5, 10, 20, 30 and 90 days.
