You can import share cancellations in bulk using an excel spreadsheet available in Carta.
Shares cancellations can be easily reflected in the platform individually or in bulk. Carta also allows you to correct, transfer and convert shares in bulk with the aid of an import file (excel spreadsheet).
1. Navigate to Ownership > Shares > Transactions.
2. Click Register transaction > Import shares.
3. Click on Download to obtain the excel spreadsheet.
4. Complete the downloaded spreadsheet. These are the mandatory fields when reflecting cancellations:
- Seller first name [Column N]- Name of the shareholder who will have their shares cancelled, required if shareholder is an individual.
- Seller last name [Column O] - Last name of the shareholder who will have their shares cancelled, required if shareholder is an individual.
- Seller email [Column P] - Email address of who will have their shares cancelled.
- Seller Company [Column R] - Name of the company shareholder who will have their shares cancelled, required if the shareholder is an entity/company.
- Seller registration number [Column S] - Registration number of the company shareholder who will have their shares cancelled, required if the shareholder is an entity/company.
- Price [Column Y]- Price per share of the transaction.
- Quantity [Column Z] - Number of shares being cancelled.
- Date of Transaction [Column AA] - Cancellation date of the shares.
- Share class [Column AB] - The share class of the shares that are being cancelled.
- Note [Column AJ] - Reason for the cancellation or any other applicable details.
5. Click Upload and select the completed spreadsheet from your computer.
6. Click Import data once the file is uploaded.
7. The platform will process the data in the file as drafts. Click Publish to publish the transactions or Review Imported Data to review them in draft status.

10. Reimport the processed file once all errors are fixed to proceed.
