You can link certain share issuances, transfers or conversions to specific funding rounds, to keep track and align on how much has been raised throughout.
Funding rounds can be created via three different methods:
Funding Rounds summarises the total amount of money raised and total shares issued for all transactions linked to the round. While recording a transaction, you can select an existing funding round to be linked to the transaction.
All information related to funding rounds can be found by navigating to Ownership > Shares > Rounds.
Funding rounds can only be deleted if they do not have transactions linked to them.
Fundraising Tab
1. Navigate to Fundraising > Funding rounds > Rounds.
2. Click Add funding round.
3. Add a funding round name and click Save.
While Adding a Transaction
1. While recording a transaction on Carta, click Add in the funding round section.
2. Add a funding round name and click Create funding round.
Import File
If you are using an import file, transactions will be associated with the funding round listed in the Funding round column. If the platform is unable to find a match for the funding round name, a new funding round will be created.
