You can import share issuances in bulk using an excel spreadsheet available in Carta.
Shares issuances can be easily reflected in the platform individually or in bulk, with the aid of an import file (excel spreadsheet). All shares are linked to a share class, so make sure that you already have a share class created.
1. Navigate to Ownership > Shares > Transactions.
2. Click Register transaction > Import shares.
3. Click on Download to obtain the excel spreadsheet.
4. Complete the downloaded spreadsheet. The required fields will be in blue columns. These are the mandatory fields:
- First name [Column A] - Completed in case your shareholder is an individual.
- Last name [Column B] - Completed in case your shareholder is an individual.
- Registration number [Column D]- Completed in case your shareholder is a company/entity. It is the ID number of company registered with authorities.
- Company name [Column E]- Completed in case your shareholder is a company/entity.
- Country [Column J] - Country of residence of an individual stakeholder or country of incorporation of the entity. Format of ISO ALPHA-2.
- Email [Column K] - Email address of the recipient of the new issuances.
- Stakeholder category [Column l]- Choose the category that best applies to your stakeholder from one of the options in the drop-down menu in the spreadsheet.
- Price [Column Y] - Price per share of the transaction.
- Quantity [Column Z] - Number of shares being issued.
- Date of Transaction [Column AA] - Issuance date of the new shares.
- Share class [Column AB] - The share class that the shares are being issued under.
5. Click Upload and select the completed spreadsheet from your computer.
6. Click Import data once the file is uploaded.
7. The platform will process the data in the file as drafts. Click Publish to publish the transactions or Review Imported Data to review them in draft status.

10. Reimport the processed file once all errors are fixed to proceed.
