Selecting a Signatory
To execute documents via Carta, a default signatory must be assigned, who can sign documents on the company's behalf.
1. Navigate to Company settings > Administrator Settings.

2. Click the Actions Button on the right-hand side of the administrator entry > Edit access.

3. Scroll down to the Document and Transaction Approvals. Click Write for Signing.

4. Carta allows you to set up to three default signatories. They will be selected in chronological order for any signing tasks. Select the order for the signatory and click Save.

Changing a Signatory
If a default signatory is not available for signing this can be amended to allow another administrator to sign the document.
1. Navigate to the transaction that needs to have the signatory modified, click on the Actions Button on the right hand side of the transaction entry > Configure signatories.

2. Select the new signatory from the dropdown menu and click Save.
3. If you are unable to find the appropriate signatory in the dropdown menu, make sure that the administrator is assigned as a signatory.
Exercise Publisher
When using the online exercise feature on Carta, an issuer signature is not required. However, it is necessary to designate an administrator to publish the exercises once they have been signed by the grantholders.
1. Navigate to Company settings > Administrator Settings.

2. Click the Actions Button on the right-hand side of the administrator entry > Edit access.

3. Scroll down to the Document and Transaction Approvals section and click Write for Publishing Exercises. Check the box for Make this admin the default exercise publisher and click Save.
